Hurricane Season Preparation

Every paradise has its flaws, in Florida, ours is Hurricane Season. Read through our
checklist and links to make sure you and your family are safe this Hurricane Season.

Water
1 gallon per person, per day. Be sure to stock up on enough water to last your family 3-7 days.
The human body can survive 30 days without food, but only 3 without water.

Food
Non-Perishable canned food is a safe bet. Snack foods that have a high protein content,
like peanut butter crackers will fill you up and give your body what it needs.
If you have an infant, be sure to stock up on enough food for them as well.

Clothing
Closed toe shoes and sturdy rain gear can help prevent accidents when
you are navigating the outdoors after the storm.

First Aid Kit

Battery Operated Radio & Batteries
Knowing what is happening during the storm is vital to survival.
Is the worst over, or was it just another band?

Flashlights

Telephones
Make sure your cell phone is fully charged and have a a spare fully charged battery ready to go.
Also be sure to have a regular (not cordless) land line phone.

Cash & Credit Cards
Keep small bills and Credit Cards handy.
Banks and ATMs may be unavailable for a few days.

Toys, Books & Games
In a time where kids are glued to televisions and their XBox 360,
they may not realize how much fun a game of Monopoly could be.
Keep kids entertained while the power is out with books and board games.

Tools

Fuel
Before the storm hits, fill up the tanks of all your cars.
If the storm takes a turn, you may be living in the new evacuation area.
Gas stations may also be closed for a few days after the storm.

Keeping up with the Joneses

"Painting the town red...well maybe not the town, just your house!"

Before you grab your paint brush and slap a new coat on your house, check out the Sherwin Williams Visualizer! We have found that if you select the Ranch style house, you will be able to see a test of how that trim and paint color will go together!

See the Sherwin Williams Visualizer HERE

Disclaimer: This tool does NOT represent approval to paint your house. All modifications to your home, including painting the exterior, must have a an approved modification document approval from your property manager. Not all paint colors shown will be available for your roof color.
